SECOND COLLECTION: This weekend is for World Communications Sunday.

 

CHILDREN’S LITURGY: Is available to all children aged 5-11 years old at the 10am Mass. We invite the children to come out to the hall/lounge after the entrance hymn and we return them at the Offertory.

 

YOUR SYMPATHY: Is requested for the family and friends of Rose Ward (McMillan) who died on May 4th and whose funeral will take place in Church at 12 noon on Friday June 6th followed by burial at Higham Ferrers Cemetery. May she rest in peace.

 

THE CHILDREN’S ROSARY PRAYER GROUP: Will meet on Saturday June 7th at 10:30am in Church.

 

COFFEE MORNING: On Saturday June 7th from 10am to 12 noon there will be a Coffee Morning in the Parish Hall for Church funds so please support this. There will be a raffle. If you can give a prize or prizes for the raffle that will be much appreciated. Please bring raffle items on the day, thank you.

 

TOGETHER IN PRAYER: All are invited to the worship and prayer service on Pentecost Sunday, June 8th at the High Street Church (‘Wez’), Rushden. See noticeboard.

 

UCM NEWS: Spring issue is now available at the back of Church.

 

FOODBANK DONATIONS: There is a comprehensive list of requested items at the back of Church (including tinned foods & household goods). Please keep the donations coming, as stocks are running low and demand is increasing more and more. Thanks to everyone for all the donations, both of goods and money!

 

NOTRE DAME HIGH SCHOOL: It is 50 years since the impressive Victorian building in Abington Street that was Notre Dame High School closed its doors for the last time and desks, books, pupils and teachers all moved to Thomas Becket School in Kettering Road. To mark this anniversary past pupils and teachers are invited to attend a Mass being celebrated in the Cathedral in Barrick Road on Saturday July 19th at 12 noon. Afterwards there will be refreshments in the St Thomas Centre next-door. There’s no charge however a donation of £10 to help with the costs would be appreciated. A ROSARY GATHERING: To honour the feast of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary will be held at 6pm on Monday June 2nd at Christ the Cornerstone church, Milton Keynes. All are welcome. See poster on noticeboard.

 

VACANCY: The Church has a vacancy for a handyman/woman to help with the maintenance of the Church and Presbytery utilities plus Health & Safety. Please contact the Parish Office if you can help. Training will be available.

WORLD COMMUNICATIONS SUNDAY: The theme for this year’s World Day of Social Communications, chosen by the late Pope Francis, is ‘Share with gentleness the hope that is in your hearts’. On this annual day, Catholics are encouraged to pray for all those professionals who work in Communications, particularly for those who are responsible for communicating on behalf of the Catholic Church in this country.
