ASSEMBLY INSIGHT – WEEK 8:
Many groups of volunteers are starting to prepare for our Assembly, from those running the tech desk and the youth stream, to those stewarding and providing hospitality. We thank God for their generosity and faithfulness. “Holiness is an encounter between your weakness and the power of God’s grace.” Pope Francis, Rejoice and Exult 34.
Prayer of the Faithful:
We pray for all the baptised of our Diocese, that through our Synod process and Assembly, we might be inspired by a new joy to share our faith with all who need to hear the Good News of Jesus Christ.
ASSEMBLY WEBINARS: Monday nights, from June 12th
are a chance for everyone to get involved in thinking about some of the key themes that came from last year’s Synod listening. Register here: https://assembly_webinars.eventbrite.co.uk
POPE’S PRAYER INTENTION: For the abolition of torture: We pray that the international community commits itself to the abolition of torture and guarantees support to victims and their families.
Seeing your Life through the Lens of the Gospel
- Jesus tells us that to have life we need more than physical nourishment. How have you been aware of deeper hungers? What has met that deeper longing in you?
- Jesus tells us that it is not just something he gives us which will give us life, but himself in his life, death and resurrection. How has your faith in the person of Jesus fed you?
- Jesus speaks about ‘drawing life’ from him in day to day living what are the practices which support your faith and help you to draw life from Jesus?
- The Eucharist is one of the ways in which we draw life from Jesus. Recall with gratitude how the Eucharist has been a source of nourishment and life for you.
- Perhaps you can also think of human examples of people drawing life from one another. From whom have you drawn life? Who has been able to draw life from you?
ADORATION: Tuesday from 10:15am to 6pm.
