VISITING THE PARISH?
We offer you a warm welcome and if you are a UK taxpayer and are intending to put money in the collection, please consider using a Gift Aid envelope – they can be put in the collection bag or, if you need time to complete the information needed, in the box at the back of the Church.

WHITE FLOWER APPEAL 2020: The Society for the Protection of Unborn Children (SPUC) is holding its annual appeal this weekend. On October 21st 2019 the most extreme abortion regime in Europe was imposed on the people of Northern Ireland by the government at Westminster. Abortion will now be permitted for any reason up until 24 weeks, and even beyond that. The abortion lobby now wants to introduce this in England and Wales. Please be as generous as you can to help SPUC defend unborn babies and their mothers from this new attack. See poster on noticeboard.
EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS: As you will be aware the Rota is coming to an end; a new one will be coming out at the end of the month. Please let me know dates you are not available until end of April. Teresa Samples.
CRIB OFFERINGS: The SVP would like to thank all who contributed to the £60.37 which we received from the Crib Offerings. Thank you for your kindness.
BISHOP ELECT: The Vatican has announced that Canon David Oakley will be the next Bishop of Northampton, succeeding Bishop Peter Doyle. Canon Oakley will be ordained Bishop on March 19th, when he will take up his duties as our new bishop. We wish him and Bishop Peter every blessing.
PEACE SUNDAY: Is next Sunday, January 19th and the theme chosen by Pope Francis for this year is ‘Peace As A Journey Of Hope: Dialogue, Reconciliation And Ecological Conversion’. Pax Christi, the Catholic Peace Movement has a long history of promoting conflict resolution and sharing the Gospel of Peace. To find out more about their work, see http://paxchristi.org.uk/ .
YOUTH MINISTRY GROUP: There will be a new Youth Ministry Group starting in January. If you would like more information about this, please put your name on the sheet at the back of church.
NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTION: Make a difference through CAFOD. Try something that is calorie-free and life giving. We really need people who are interested to go into our Catholic schools and inspire students to act on their sense of justice. You don’t have to be a teacher to do this role, only a passion for CAFOD’s work and an ability to communicate well with children and young people. If you are good at motivating others we have the ideal role for you – inspiring other volunteers in nearby parishes. Also, we would love to share more of the great acts of love carried out by our parishes and schools via media. So if you are able to help promote our work in this way, we would love to hear from you. All necessary training, travel expenses and resources will be provided. To get in touch: email northampton@cafod.org.uk or phone 01494 863 777.
LIVING FAITH: Booklets for January to March 2020 are available from the back of church, priced at 80p each.
THE VINE: Please take a copy of the January edition of your free Diocesan newspaper from the back of church.
EXPOSITION OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT: Friday: 11am to 6pm; Saturday: 2pm to 5:15pm.
