Everyone is welcome to attend in person: but should use their common sense and comply with the current guidelines, eg social distancing, hand sanitiser usage and face masks/face coverings. This Mass will be live-streamed. If you do wish to attend please email bishopssecretary@northamptondiocese.org
A CHRISTMAS GIFT FOR THE CHURCH: It would really help the Parish financial shortfall due to Covid-19, if you could consider making a Christmas Gift to the Church in addition to the amount you would normally give in the collection. We have experienced a loss of 50% in our income during the pandemic and need to try and redress this as much as possible. Attached to the Newsletter is a list of things your money could buy and details of how your extra donation can be made.
OFFERTORY COLLECTION: You may be wondering how you can support the Church during this difficult time. If you wish to contribute financially, please consider making either a one-off donation or setting up a regular payment. This can be done using the following details:
Bank name: NatWest
Account name: R.C.D.N. St Peter’s Rushden
Sort Code: 60-06-11
Account Number: 91052432
GIVING TREE: The Giving Tree is available this weekend for you to take one or more labels (as many as you like!) and bring the items back over the next two weekends. The items have been identified by the Food Bank as ‘extras’ for Christmas and will be distributed during the festive period.
UCM NEWS: The Winter 2020 edition is now available both inside and outside church.
WANTED: Warm hats, scarves, gloves and socks for local homeless people. Please bring any donations next weekend (when the Church will be open as usual) or take to the Food Bank at the Full Gospel Church (60 High Street South) on Tuesday or Thursday morning. They can also be collected – ring 01933 313456.
ONLINE INTERACTIVE ADVENT CALENDAR:
By taking just five minutes out of each of the days of Advent and clicking on the virtual calendar doors you can take the necessary pause in order to prepare for the beauty of the Nativity. www.catholicbishops.ie/adventcalendar
ADVENT EXAMINATION OF CONSCIENCE: Reflect on ways you may have turned away from loving God, our neighbours and the earth: How do my actions show my compassion for all those who are trapped in grinding poverty? Do I cherish and protect creation, remembering that God is the creator of all? Advent calls us to change our lives: how will you ‘prepare a way for the Lord’ in your life?
ADORATION OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT:
From 10am to 6pm Tuesday and Friday, with Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament.
ATTENDING MASS: When attending Mass, you will be asked to leave your name and contact details if you have not previously done so.
